Maria Arce Recatala

Maria is a Senior Facade Engineer and a member of the Society of Facade Engineers (SFE) in the UK. Qualified in Architecture at the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia and has a PhD in the hygrothermal performance of rainscreen cladding. This research was led by her in a collaborative framework comprising input from the Industry, the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid and Gent University. 

She has now over 5-years experience as a façade consultant being involved from concept design through to construction stages, working within multidisciplinary teams and running a variety of projects in residential, commercial, office and civic (theatre) schemes.  Maria also has good experience in the surveying of existing facades. 

Maria joined FMDC to lead the Building Physics team, bringing strong and wide technical knowledge of the subject, whilst also considering user comfort, sustainability and buildability.  Her skills and experience are clearly communicated to both colleagues and clients to develop workable and appropriate project solutions.

Maria enjoys meeting friends, hiking, swimming and running.
