Colin Taylor

Colin is a Director, Board Member and former owner of FMDC, being the first employee to join the firm, over ten years ago. He has twenty years of experience working as a façade consultant with time spent in Glasgow, London and Los Angeles. He is experienced in most building sectors, having worked on commercial, residential, retail, arts and healthcare buildings. He has been involved in the design and realisation of some fantastic FMDC projects over the years, including Bloomberg HQ, Rathbone Place, Wood Wharf A1, Shaftesbury Theatre, 4 Cannon Street and Shoreditch Village Phase 2.  Prior to FMDC, Colin worked for 10 years in another leading façade consultancy, again designing and realizing some amazing projects.

Colin typically specializes in front-end design, working closely with clients and architects to realize their visions within sensible and pragmatic parameters. He is a talented hand-sketcher and can also communicate his ideas via 3d computer models.  Colin has an eye for design whilst also keeping close attention to technical detail and performance requirements. He also leads Operations at FMDC with focus on project resourcing, forward workload planning and assisting with the financial planning.  

In his spare time Colin is a keen tennis player, having coached the game prior to becoming a façade consultant and he continues to represent his county at senior level.
