The Peninsula London

The Peninsula London is a new 5 star luxury hotel designed by Hopkins Architects, which looks over Hyde Park Corner and Wellington Arch. The building is arranged around a central courtyard.
The façade from Ground Level to Level 1 includes handset Portland Stone with fair faced precast concrete lintels and curtain walling, windows and doors with a patinated bronze finish.

Above, the façade between Level 1 to Level 6 incorporates stone-faced precast concrete piers and fair faced precast concrete lintols with aluminium unitised curtain walling, windows and metal cladding with a bronze anodised finish.

The building steps back at Levels 6, 7 and 8 to create external terraces accessible via sliding doors installed within stone and slate rainscreen cladding systems.

The stone and precast concrete and the curtain walling, windows, doors, metal cladding, planters, canopies and balustrades were supplied by Grants of Shoreditch and Seele respectively.

FMDC were employed by the Client for the construction phase.  Our scope of works included internal stone, roofs, the thermal analysis of wall and floors below ground in addition of the façade.
