On Wednesday 13th September the Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC) had its ribbon cutting ceremony ahead of its formal opening the next day.
The building is located on the World Trade Centre site in New York and the brainchild of Joshua Prince-Ramus of REX Architecture. The ceremony was hosted by Mike Bloomberg, as well as the current Mayor of the City of New York, the Governor of New York and Ronald Perelman.
FMDC Ltd were present thanks to the kind invitation of Warren Elghanayan and Leslie Koch, as our Bruno Miglio had been involved in the selection and assessment of the thousands of translucent book matched Portuguese marble panels that make up the facades of this building.
After the ceremony Bruno and Manuel Simoes whose company supplied the marble, were very kindly given a tour of the building by Joshua Prince-Ramus, the Architect behind the amazing project. He even managed to sneak us in to see James Taylor rehearsing! The inside is as spectacular as the outside. Bruno later popped back to see the building at night. Whilst the building skin glows amber on the inside during the day, at night the glow is reversed and seen from the outside, delivering a stunning effect for a truly unique and iconic building.
