FMDC is employee owned having become an Employee Ownership Trust in 2023. Many of our buildings are in the City and West End, and are frequently realised, allowing staff to easily visit site and see their projects being built.
The Role
• Actively collaborating with project teams to identify and resolve façade-related technical challenges.
• Developing design information, including drawings, presentations, and specifications, and providing façade guidance and advice.
• Recommending cladding strategies and detailed interface solutions, emphasizing holistic project outcomes.
• Attending meetings and workshops, offering façade insights and recommendations.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of subcontractor-supplied façade data.
• Visit factories and sites for routine inspections.
• Carry out research on materials, products, and construction methodologies that would help achieve the architectural intent.
Qualifications and Requirements
• Degree qualified in Architecture, Engineering, Building Technology or a similar course.
• 2 years minimum working for a tier 1, UK based Façade Consultant.
• Enthusiastic, keen to learn and develop. The ability to fit into a vibrant, varied and talented team.
• An interest in design, fabrication, construction, materials and sustainability.
• A desire to gain varied knowledge across different façade related areas, including sketching, 3-d modelling, materials research, calculations, sub-contractor drawing and submittal reviews, site and factory exposure.
