Photos of our recent trip to Josef Gartner GmbH’s factory in Germany to attend a performance mock-up (PMU) test and review a visual mock-up (VMU) for our One Liverpool Street project, a new office building designed by Eric Parry Architects and being delivered by Mace. The PMU was for a unitised curtain wall system at Level 8 incorporating cast aluminium panels. The successful PMU test was followed by an inspection of a VMU of a typical ground floor bay, comprising a steel stick curtain wall installed between rainscreen cladding with cast aluminium columns, beams and perforated spandrels, which provided a great opportunity to discuss important design aspects of this very intricate cladding type. An intense, yet very productive exercise, that will no doubt prove very useful for what should be yet another landmark building in the City of London by Eric Parry Architects.
