Montacute Yards

Montacute Yards is a new office building in Shoreditch, designed by AHMM for client Brockton Capital, completed in 2023. It was one of our earlier collaborations with AHMM, which has since grown to many projects in Central London.

The building celebrates the Shoreditch area’s industrial heritage, employing a steel primary frame exoskeleton, ribbed metal spandrels and a fenestration expression delivering detail and interest to the façade.

The cladding was executed in unitised curtain walling by sub-contractor GIG, with panels installed from the floorplate, threaded between slab edge and external steel structure, to deliver a column free internal perimeter.

The building was located on a tight, unused, brown-field site, and has created a new office destination for the area, with a frontage onto vibrant Shoreditch High Street.

This very successful project was shortlisted for the ‘New London Awards 2023’, ‘AJ Architecture Awards 2023’ and the ‘World Architecture Festival Awards 2023’.
