The Kings Cross redevelopment is a major regeneration scheme in the heart of London by developers Argent LLP. Over the last 10 years, FMDC Ltd have been involved as façade consultants in several projects in Kings Cross, working in a pre-contract, design capacity alongside some of the most prestigious London architectural practices, as well as post-contract for several Main Contractors delivering the projects. A recent walkaround of the King’s Cross estate was an opportunity for us to visit, revisit and reflect on our ongoing and past projects on the Kings Cross estate. Among these were Building B5 by Eric Parry Architects, P2 and S3 by Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, S1-S2 by Mossessian Architecture, the Midlands Good Sheds and T2-T3 by Bennetts Associates, S4 by Allies and Morrison, S5 by Alison Brooks Architects, R3 by Squire and Partners, R7 by Morris+Company, R8 by Piercy&Company, Q1 by Coffey Architects. These buildings all contribute to the quality of the public space and the success of the regenerated Kings Cross area and we are delighted and thankful for the opportunities given to us over the years to have played a part in that. A great and informative tour, followed by an evening of drinks and dinner at the Gas Station in King’s Cross and future site of Building F1 by Lee + Wilkinson Architecture, for which FMDC Ltd are also providing façade engineering services.
