BUPA Place, Salford

Bupa Place is the largest single occupancy building in Manchester, located in a prominent waterside location, adjacent to Salford’s award-winning Media City.
The significant commercial development was completed in 2018 and was shortlisted for ‘Project of the Year’ in the 2019 North-West region Construction Awards.

The project achieved a BREAM ‘Excellent’ rating, which reflects the Sustainability aspirations at the core of the design, which included extensive areas of fixed external brise-soleils, on the south facing elevation, which enabled the delivery of good natural light levels and views out, whilst managing and tempering solar gains onto the floorplate.

Chapman Taylor were Architects for the project, employing FMDC as sub-consultants to progress the façade design.

We were engaged for pre-contact services only, designing facades which were executed predominantly in stick system curtain walling.

Bupa Place continued the longstanding relationship with Chapman Taylor’s Manchester office, which has seen involvement in many projects, running for over 20 years, starting when FMDC staff involved were with previous employers.
