FMDC Ltd recently visited the brilliant, recently revamped Arding & Hobbs building in Clapham Junction, at the kind invitation of Stiff + Trevillion Architects.
Many thanks again to Stiff + Trevillion Architects for this great opportunity and a very special thanks to Lance Routh for his time and his detailed and very informative tour of the building. FMDC Ltd are delighted to have played their part in this exemplar project, by providing façade engineering services for the new roof pavilion and the glazed rooflights of the building.
The result is a truly inspiring masterclass by Stiff + Trevillion Architects and a great illustration of a sensitive – yet bold approach to renovating and upgrading historic landmark department stores.
