FMDC Ltd are delighted to have been part of the design team as façade consultant, collaborating with Ed Williams, Chris Radley and Ayo Akinola from Fletcher Priest Architects, to deliver the recently submitted planning application for 55 Old Broad Street for developers Landsec. Other key design key members include: Turner & Townsend (PM), Alinea Consulting LLP (QS), Heyne Tillett Steel (S), and Atelier Ten (M+E/Sustainability). The intent for the façade is delivery using a pre-glazed precast donut methodology, which has presented logistical challenges, explored and resolved in stage 2, with BAM UK & Ireland and Techrete UK & Ireland. Sustainability, performance, and durability are key drivers for this ambitious commercial tower in the City of London. Alessio Marostica and Duncan Richards were part of FMDC Ltd team at stage 2. Wishing all involved the best of luck with the application and we look forward to the start of stage 3 and seeing this project get built.
