FMDC Ltd’s Irene Mantovani and Lefteris Siamopoulos recently visited the site of 81 Newgate Street, together with Anila Hadafmand, Mark Lydon and Patrick Lam. The stone-faced precast panels by Grants Group and the unitised curtain walling panels by Focchi Group are being installed, and the cladding works are fast progressing. The project embraces circular economy, through its innovative re-use of the Portland limestone panels from the former BT Centre, used as stone-facing tiles on the precast panels. 81 Newgate Street was designed by KPF architects and is being delivered by Main Contractor Mace, with FMDC Ltd assisting KPF with the façade design development from RIBA Stage 3 and currently novated to Mace to help deliver the project.
