25 Cannon Street

The redevelopment of 25 Cannon Street is major ‘cut and carve’ scheme, completed in 2022.
The architect was Buckley Gray Yeoman, who reworked the outdated and under-performing facade of a 6-storey Neo Classical building for Pembroke Real Estate.

The site is in the heart of the City of London, next to St Pauls and is FMDC’s 2nd project for Pembroke, following the earlier successful completion of the PLP designed new-build, at 4 Cannon Street.  FMDC were engaged as facade consultants from early design stages, through to completion on site in a compliance monitoring role for the client.

The redevelopment included replacement windows throughout, to improve performance and increase light levels, by remodelling apertures in the existing stone clad facade, by making openings bigger on selected floors.

A new feature entrance was created with new shopfront glazing at ground floor.  A further storey was added to the top of the building, to increase NIA, with the new building also featuring various terraces and a rooftop garden.

The new glazing scope was designed and delivered by Dane, with reworked stone cladding by (TBC).  New scalloped hand-set stone spandrels were introduced at level 3, with the pattern carried through into the metalwork design at ground and pavilion levels.  The redevelopment was awarded the 2023 Schueco Excellence Award in the Commercial & Mixed-Use category.
