245 Hammersmith Road

245 Hammersmith Road is a new 10-storey office building, designed by Sheppard Robson, for developer Legal & General and Mitsubishi Estate.
It is the largest single office built in Hammersmith for over 20 years and was completed in 2019. FMDC were appointed from mid-Stage 4 until completion on site. Services included the review of the facade tender documents, submittals reviews, witnessing an off-site PMU test, factory visits and site inspections.

The dominant architectural feature of the elevations is the angled red anodised window surrounds, which are a reference to the terracotta brick facades, commonplace in the area.

The reveals are tailored to elevation orientation, and used to minimise solar gain, creating a bold, dynamic, elevation.

The typical façades were executed in 3m wide unitised curtain walling panels by Focchi, with GRC added to the material palette at lower levels.  The project won a RIBA Regional Award and was highly recommended by the British Council of Offices.
