1 Grosvenor

1 Grosvenor Square is a 7-storey premium residential development in the heart of Mayfair.
Designed by Eric Parry Architects and delivered by executive architects EPR, for Indian developer Lodha. The project comprised the relocation of a number of diplomatic missions, with the site reverting back to residential use, creating 44 luxury apartments.

FMDC were engaged by Main Contractor Mace, to provide facade consultancy support, to deliver this complex and challenging building.

To satisfy planning constraints, most of the significant elevations were recorded and then carefully dismantled, before being reconstructed, using traditional build methodologies and materials, to allow minor adjustments to the elevation hierarchy, the introduction of contemporary interventions and a performance upgrade.

The hand-set self-supporting brick and stone elevations, were delivered by Paye Stonework, with timber sash windows by George Barnsdale.  The facade scope also included areas of Secco steel windows and zinc clad dormers.   FMDC geologists were involved in the selection and specification of the Portland stone facades.  The building was completed in late 2020.
